Skin Genie Blindspot Healing Stick Product Review

*This is an honest review.

Moisturizing is really important. This is one thing I know now. The reason why I am so hesitant to use products on my face ( and this sits true with cosmetics) is because I have really sensitive skin. When I was younger, I seldom used moisturizers. But, after becoming a mom, with all the stress and lack of sleep, it took a toll on my skin. I noticed my face would always be dry. So, after watching some of my favorite cosmetics YouTubers (AnneClutz and Mae Layug) and how they place so much importance on moisturizing even if they have oily skin, I went on my own search for  budget-friendly moisturizers that would give me the results I needed without irritating my skin.

Since I live in Davao City, products aren't easy to find. Mind you, I used to live in Manila (I utterly miss Manila minus the traffic), and in Manila, everything is available. If a new product comes out, it will usually take a month before it's available in Davao City. Thus, my joke that products are all IMPORTED here in Davao City. IMPORTED yes, galing Maynila (from Manila).

Hence, the beauty of online shopping. It may take a while to get here, but I am willing to wait. During the first few days of the new year, I was sent a notification from BeautyMNL about a promo of free shipping for a minimum purchase of 99 Pesos. My luck! I can buy moisturizer! So, I decided to scour the list of available moisturizers and read the reviews. Personally, I just love reading what other people have to say even if it's just downright rude. It gives me a hearty laugh.

So after filtering out their 'not so good' and 'expensive' products, I found a local brand called Skin Genie. This product line apparently has been on the market for sometime and of course, I am the last to know. They have really good reviews for their apple cider vinegar soap and Blindspot Healing Stick. I wanted to purchase both but, one thing I read about the apple cider vinegar soap is that it's very soft so it "melts" easily. So, I decided, I'll try it next time. For now, I will purchase what I need and get the Blindspot Healing Stick priced at 100 Pesos ($2 USD).
CLAIM TO FAME: An all-natural salve powered by botanical extracts

FAST FACTS: Formulated with seaweed extract, tomato extract, rosehip oil, sunflower oil, vitamin E, shea butter, fragrance oil, papaya extract, burberry extract, and love plant oil; nourishes and soothes; helps dry up pimples; works to lighten dark areas and other blemishes

PERFECT FOR: Use on the face, elbows, knuckles, knees, inner thigh, underarm, and nape of neck
When it arrived, literally I was shocked. It was this little 'itty bitty thing...the size of my lipbalm. Well, the reviews did say it was small and at first you would think it's not worth 100 Pesos ( hey, my Maybelline lipbalm costs 89 Pesos). But, the reviews did say that the product itself goes on thick and it will take a while for you to use up all (4.2g) of its contents.

Size comparison between my Maybelline Lipbalm and Skin Genie Blindspot Healing Stick

According to its label, the Skin Genie Blindspot Healing Stick is made up of seaweed extract, tomato extract, rosehip oil, sunflower oil, Vitamin E, shea butter, fragrance oil, papaya extract, burberry extract, and love plant oil. It is used best for dark areas: face, elbows, knuckles, inner thigh, knees, underarm, nape, neck, and scars. Directions for use: Use twice daily.

Why did I buy this? I needed something more than my usual moisturizing night cream. Something that can help heal and soothe at the same time without irritating my skin. While scanning through the list of reviews from users, I was able to find a review from a user who has sensitive dry skin like me, and she  mentioned that she uses it as a night cream since it goes on super thick. After repeated use, in 2 weeks, her acne scars and dark spots disappeared and no more dry skin. I noticed ALL users mentioned that this product dries up pimples. They put it on at night and wake up the next day to find that their pimples have dried up.

I have been using this product for 3 weeks now, and the reviews are all true. I use it in addition to my night cream and I also put a little on after bathing in the morning. My face is no longer dry and whatever darkspots I had left behind after using the Prestige International Melasma Set are now gone. And yes, it does dry up pimples. You put some on a pimple at night  before going to bed and when you wake the next day, the pimple has dried up! MIRACLE STICK!

I have also been putting a little under my eyes to help with the dark circles and the puffiness. Just a tiny bit. There has been an improvement and I don't look tired as much. Sorry, I am not much of a make-up person. A little eyebrow and some lipstick or lip balm is my thing. The whole full-face with concealer, contour, base, powder, highlighting, mascara, eyeliner, blush, and falsies is a bit too much for me. But, I do love watching the transformations and impressed with the artistry. I do believe it to be art.

You only need a little to cover your face. Just swipe on an area and with your hands spread the product on your face. So, yes, it will take a while for me to use all the contents. It's definitely worth the price; maybe more than what it's worth.

I recommend this product for those who have sensitive dry skin, acne scars, blemishes, and problem dark areas. I tried putting some on my elbows and it lightened up after 2 weeks.

Will definitely try more of Skin Genie's products like the Apple Cider Vinegar Soap, Skin Genie Genie in A Bottle Cream, and their Apple Cider Vinegar and Vodka Toner.
