The Royal Wedding 2018: Best Wishes and Congratulations to Prince Harry and Meghan

I'm a sap when it comes to weddings and fairytale endings. When I catch a whiff of a Cinderella-like tale, I tend to keep posted. That's how I felt with the now Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton and Prince William when they had their well-publicized wedding and now, the younger Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

I'm a believer that love wins. It may sound that I am naive, most especially when there are so many stories circulating with the hashtag "walang forever" ( literally translated to "there is no forever"), but, I do hope. Love is the binding bridge that keeps all men together even in the face of adversity and diversity. I would like to believe in the goodness of mankind and what lies deep within their hearts...because if I don't, then I'd live a cynical and rather introvert life. That's the beauty of being human...it may be complicated but, it's all worth it.

The Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle was held today, May 19, on a beautiful sunny day at St. George's Chapel, which is situated within the grounds of Windsor Castle, where Queen Elizabeth II lives most of the year. St. George's Chapel is both a Royal Peculiar (meaning it is governed by the monarch) and a chapel of the Order of the Garter. Only a limited list of people can wed there-knights, residents of Windsor Castle, residents of the College of St. George, and the Royals although, even Prince Harry and his bride had to ask permission from the Queen herself. 

The program for the wedding was strictly followed, even the time of the arrivals of the guests, the arrival of the Royals and of the bride. I must say, there is no delay nor diverting away from the program when it comes to a royal wedding. I was clearly impressed. All these pictures I took watching it live on CNN.

The bride arrived last and walked into the chapel accompanied by her page boys, flower girls, and bridesmaids.  Her wedding dress was designed by Clare Waight Keller who is the first female artistic director of Givenchy. Her veil,  on the other hand,  featured a symbolic importance in relation to Prince Harry's appointment as Commonwealth Youth Ambassador. At 5 meters in length,  the veil features flowers from every Commonwealth country including 2 additional flowers, the winter sweet and the California poppy,  2 of Meghan's favorite flowers. To top it all off, she wore the Queen Mary's diamond bandeau tiara provided by the Queen.

When Meghan arrived at the section of the choir, she was then escorted by none other than the Prince of Wales himself, Prince Charles. Meghan's father was not able to attend due to heart surgery.

The wedding was solemn and charming. I really loved the rendition of "Stand By Me" during the wedding. It was beautiful. During the exchange of the wedding bands, you can see the happiness in each other's eyes.

After signing their marriage documents and singing "God Save the Queen", the newlyweds walked down the aisle towards the outside with the other members of the royal family following. They made their first public appearance as husband and wife, sealing it with a kiss.
